AMCU VI held at Bangkok

 

 

The FABC-Office of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs (FABC-OEIA) and the Christian Conference of Asia (CCA) have jointly organized the sixth Asian Movement for Christian Unity (AMCU VI) in Bangkok, Thailand from December 3-5, 2013.  The theme of the gathering was “Christian Witness in a Multi-Religious World: Recommendations for Conduct.” Some representatives from the Asian Evangelical Alliance (AEA) and World Council of Churches (WCC) were also present. 091213

OHD Interim Executive Secretary Appointed

 

 

The FABC Central Committee has appointed on October 22, 2013 Fr. Bonnie Mendez as the Interim Executive Secretary of FABC Office of Human development. Father Mendez is based in Faisalabad, Pakistan, has served as executive secretary of the same office from 1980-83. 051113

Former FABC-OESC Executive Secretary Passes On

 

 

Fr. Vicente Cajilig, OP the former executive secretary of FABC-Office of Education and Student Chaplaincy (OESC) for 19 years (1990-2009) passed away unexpectedly last August 05, 2013. The office was renamed Office of Education and Faith Formation (OEFF) together with the creation a new FABC Office for Clergy. May he rest in peace. 070813

The FABC Office of Evangelization will organize the Fourth Bishop's Institute for Biblical Apostolate (BIBA IV) on the theme "Crossing the Borders: Renewed Biblical Apostolate for New Evangelization." Final Statement on the Formation of Well-Developed Priests for the Continent of Asia

 

 

The Office of Clergy organized an internal seminar for bishops and formators on the theme “Formation of Positive, Integral, and Humanly Well-Developed Priests for the continent of Asia." The seminar was held in Assumption University, Bangkok, Thailand from May 6-11. 2013 and was participated in by several bishops and priests from 10 countries in Asia. 280513

The Office of Laity and Family organized the second Bishops’ Institute for Laity Apostolate from April 20-24, 20013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The second BILA on family dealt with the theme “Families in Asia, serving and being served.” 140513

AsIPA International Training Workshop

 

 

The Asian Integrated Pastoral Approach (AsIPA) Desk of the Office of Laity and Family of the Federation of Asian Bishops Conferences will organize three International Training Workshops from 7 to 12 October, 2013. The venue will be in the Camillian Social Center in Lat Krabang, Bangkok, Thailand.  The training workshops are open to Episcopal Commissions for Small Christian Communities (SCC) / Basic Christian Communities (BCC), and the different Diocesan and National SCC/BCC teams. 110413

Conference of Muslim and Christian Religious Leaders in Asia

 

 

The FABC-Office of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs (OEIA) has released the report and final statement of the recent Conference of Muslim and Christian Religious Leaders in Asia. The meeting held in Jakarta Feb 25-March 1, 2013 was jointly organized by OEIA, the Christian Conference of Asia (CCA), International Conference of Muslim Scholars (ICIS), the Indonesian Catholic Bishops’ Conference (KWI), and the Communion of Churches in Indonesia (PGI). 220313
